Show VETERANS SURPRISED AT THEIR ANhlUAL MEETING The Ogden Veteran Firemen's association asso-ciation and its Ladies' Auxiliary held annual elections of officers last night at tho Veterans' room in the basement base-ment of the city hall. While the meeting, so far as the former fire fighters were concerned, had been planned as one for business purposes pur-poses only, it was turned into a big surprise party by the ladles. The latter, knowing well the proclivities of their better halveB for social recreation, recrea-tion, thoughtfully brought thirty baskets bas-kets of lunch along with them. After the elections were duly concluded, con-cluded, tho baskets were brought from their place of storage and the joint assembly partook of the contents con-tents with much relish, while the social so-cial spirit reigned. The result of the Firemen's election elec-tion was as follows: Henry A. West, president; John Douglass, first vice president; H. D. Gale, second vice president; J. W. Browning, secretary; J. R. Horspool, assistant secretary; Job Pingree, Jr., treasurer; J. C. West, property man. The officers elected by the ladies were: Mrs. F. H. Whitehead, president; Mrs. Robert Furniss, first vice president; presi-dent; Mrs Frances Huss, second vice president; Mrs. James Wood, secretary; secre-tary; Mrs. J. Warner, treasurer. |
