Show OO; NO POLITICS IN THE FIGHT. A gentleman of pleasing demeanor called at the Standard yesterday with the resolutions passed by the parents-teachers' parents-teachers' organization of the Lorin Farr school. The editor drew him in to a conversation for the purpose of getting a better idea of the pro-Milis pro-Milis side of the school controversy. We were seeking for a convincing reason rea-son why Mr. Mills should bo retained as head of the school system. The visitor said his children were making mak-ing good progress and he was satisfied satis-fied with present conditions. As he was leaving, he dropped a very significant signi-ficant remark: "I believe this whole movement is political," he said. Is It possible that the friends of Mills are whispering around that the schools are being drawn .into politics? poli-tics? Any one who is deceived by talk of that kind must bo wholly unaware of the fact that a majority of the board of education is made up of Democrats, while the Standard, which is supporting the board, is Republican. |
