Show AUTO HOMBEB 01 A DOCTOR'S CAR ID 8EEN LOST The case of the City vs. T. C. Morris Mor-ris and H. L. Bywater was called In tho municipal court this morning and, on motion of the assistant city attorney, at-torney, was continued until August 2tf. Four "plain" drunks, E. O. New-comb, New-comb, W Willimas, Tom Gibbons and W N Marshall were given suspended suspend-ed sentences and Dan Dunn was given giv-en a ten-day jail sentence, for a similar simi-lar offense, it being his third one within the past few weeks. - Lee HIng, a Chinese arrested last night by Detectives Charles Pincock and George Wardlaw on a chargo of disturbing the peace, forfeited $10 bail. Glen Gale pleaded guilty to a charge of riding a bicycle on tho sidewalk and was assessed the minimum mini-mum fine of S3. He was arrested last night by Officer William Reast. William Thornton and Charles Bar-nett, Bar-nett, charged with unlawfully using water from the canal of the North Ogden Irrigation company, entered pleas of not guilty. Thornton's hearing hear-ing was set for August 23 and Bar-uctL's Bar-uctL's for August 24. In tho case of the State vs. Dr. E. R Dumke. the defendant, who was charged with driving an automobile without the required front and rear state license numbers attached, entered en-tered a plea of guilty. In extenuation extenua-tion of his offense, he stated that one of the license numbers obtained for the car had been lost or stolen and that he had applied for another before be-fore his arrest. Since his arrest, he said, he bad. secured a temporary number from the secretary of state of the type specially supplied to physicians physi-cians upon application. In view of these circumstances, the county attorney at-torney recommended tho minimum fine of $5 and the recommendation was followed out by tho judge In passing sentence. oo |
