Show SCANDINAVIANS AT HUNTSVILLE. That the Scandinavians of Utah had an enjoyable time at the conference confer-ence held in Huntsvillo last Saturday and Sunday is attested by all present. pres-ent. The reunion was so successful vthat many have urged the wisdom of making Huntsvillo the meeting place each year. Under the heading, "Sounds From the North," the Salt Lake Herald-Republican, Herald-Republican, refers to tho Huntsvllle guhering as follows: "What Norseman in Utah could read of that reunion at Huntsvllle without endearing thoughts of the Fatherland, whether one of the twins of the Scandinavian peninsula or the mighty little empire of the Danes? There were native songs, folk dances in native dross, and so much chatter In native tongues a,nd laughter In happy hearts that one chronicler of the event was moved to say the language lan-guage and customs of this land were almost forgotten. Such occasions tend to strengthen love and loyalty to an adopted country. Nor can there be too many of them." no |
