Show UTAH MINE MAY JIG ITS DUMPS R. Sutton, superintendent of tho Utah mine at Fish Springs, who is In the city at present, in speaking of the future of that properly mentions men-tions especially the handling of the dumps which have accumulated during dur-ing these many years the mine lias been producing. From the succcbb met by Messrs. Vandcroff and Swlcegood in their recent re-cent operations of the Utah dumps, the company feels that by installing the same method of handling a larger larg-er tonnage and using practically the same process it can make the dumps a source of much revenue. It will be necessary to test dumpn thoroughly thorough-ly and find the best portions to handle. han-dle. By discarding the larger and coarser coars-er matorial the finer screenings should jig very readily. "While the Utah mine ore has been a high-grade shipping product considerable second-class second-class ore remains on various lovcls in the mine which can be mined, crushed and rcd, uceu to shipping ore at small cost by this process of hand jigs. Tho quality of the ore Itself makes this very feasible. The Initial cost of Installation of jigs Is also very small. Tho water for making this plan available is to be secured by hoisting from the mine. There is a possibility that this will bring the Utah mine back Into tho dividend .column, .col-umn, or at least prolong the life of this wonderful little producer. |
