Show EASTER JT CATHOLIC; CHURCH WILL BE WELL OBSERVED High mass was celebrated yesterday yester-day morning in St, Joseph's Catholic church, with Rev. P. M. Cushnahan officiating and preaching the Holy Thursday sermon. The music was by St. Joseph's church choir, under the direction of Mrs. Maurice Kennedy and with Miss May Conroy at the organ. The Lenten season will be closed tonight at 7:30 o'clock with the "Stations "Sta-tions of the Cross" service. On Sunday the Easter services will be held. As in previous years, the musical program will be one of the main features and Mrs. Kennedy and Miss Conroy have been working for some weeks to make- it one that will surpass all previous efforts. The choir, under tho direction of Mrs. Kennedy and with Miss Conroy at the organ, will sing Rosewlg's mass in E flat, with Mrs. Edna Healy-Smith, Healy-Smith, Miss Marguerite McNulty, Ruth Thatcher, Frances Smith, John Junk and Ben Crltchlow as soloists. This will be followed by an offertory solo "Ave Maria (Prelettc) by Mrs. Edna Healy-Smlth, Immediately after mass, the benediction bene-diction of the blessed sacrament will be given, with the solo "O, Salutarls" by Mrs. Kennedy following. Tho boys' choir will sing at the 6 o'clock mass and the girls' choir at the 8 o'clock mass. The presence of Rev. Father Cushuahan will lend a special spirit of happiness to the different dif-ferent services of tho day. |
