Show oo GUSTAVE HANSEN DIES IT HOSPITAL I Gustave A. Hansen, a prominent local lo-cal business man, died at the Dee hospital hos-pital at 4:10 p. m. yesterday, after a week's illness from pneumonia. Mr. Hansen was popularlj known as "Gus," and was the proprietor of the. Top Not bar on Washington avenue. He vvas associated for a cumber of vears with L. D, Wertz in the Lemp saloon, under the firm name of Wertz and Hansen. His death Is a severe blow, not only to his family, but to a large number of friends. Although the man was injured by being kicked In the back when his saloon was held up on the night of December 7, last, the attending physician physi-cian does not believe that the ensuing ailments can be attributed to these injuries. While opening the safe at the command com-mand of one of the masked robbers Mr. Hansen was dealt several vicious kicks because he did not operate the combination fast enough to suit his assailants. He suffered from these injuries for more than a week. Guetave Hansen vvas born November Novem-ber 12. 1866, at Grand Island. Neb. He lned there uytll 1894, when he came to Utah- He wa6 married to Helen Schalkrt bn January 11, 1896. and shortly after his marriage took up hlG residence In Ogden. He is survived by hl6 wife, two 9ons. Robert and De Fore3t, his mother mo-ther and father, two brothers and three sisters The father and mother live at Grand Island. Neb. A brother, J. VY. Hansen, and two sisters. Mrs. Ross Pleyte, and Mrs. Bertha Schwab also live at Grand Island. The other brother. J. F. Hansen, resides at Norih Luke. Neb. and Mrs Clara Rapp. the other sister, lives at Ash ton. Neb. Mr. Hansen vvas a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and also of the Sons of Hermann The body was taken to the Lind qulst undertaking parlors and the funeral fu-neral announcements will be made later |
