Show FRENCH GENERAL IS CALLED BY DEATH Amiens, France. Jan. 19. General Marie-Georges Plcquart, commander of the second French army corps, who was one of the most prominent figures fig-ures in the Dreyfus case, died here today, aged 60 years. General Plcquart, regarded as one of the mo6t brilliant officers of the French army, was an Alsatian by birth It was while serving on general gen-eral staff that Picquart discovered the forgeries which had brought about the condemnation of Drejfus to the horrors of Devils' Island. Picquart thereupon became one of the most enthusiastic appelants for a revision of the judgment on Dreyfus. |
