Show FOUR PONIES FOR HIS WEDDING GIFT New York, N. Y., Jan. 19. When Deeyreaux Milburn was married laot .nonth, Harry Payne Whitney gave the peerless polo back several of his best ponies. Just how many were included in-cluded In the gift has not been learned but it is presumed that the four are Included on which Milburn rode In the 1913 matches and which he probably prob-ably will use in the matches next June, If he is a member of the American Ameri-can team. Whitney, who owns about 25 ponies, will not ghe up his string, but will keep the ponies ready so as to havo them at hand If he careB to take part in any of the games for the championship champi-onship cups at Narragansett pier. Pololsts are of the opinion that Fox-hall Fox-hall Keene would be selected as a member of the cup team. Keene has been anxious to play in the International Interna-tional matches for years. The iact that he was appointed captain of tbo substitute team for the big four last June, and that the team was disrupted, disrupt-ed, and the big four put in the saddle sad-dle after Keene had broken his collar col-lar bone, gives color to the story that he will take part in the International matches this year. He haB recovered from his Injury and will start practice prac-tice as soon as the preliminary game? open. |
