Show STRIKE INQUIRY BY HOUSE URGED Washington, Jan. 19. Undaunted by the action of the Democrats of the house rules committee In voting against reporting a rule to provide for congressional investigation of the Colorado and Michigan strikes, Representative Repre-sentative Keating of Colorado today circulated a petition for a Democratic caucus to pass on the question as a matter of party policy. Mr. Keating represents the district In which the strike is being carried on and has urged urg-ed action for weeks. He declared today to-day that the matter was too vital to rest with individual members of the committee. Supporting this attitude. Representative Represent-ative Hill of Illinois has introduced a resolution directing the speaker of the houBe to appoint a committee or five members to investigate conditions in Colorado to ascertain whether there has been an Interference with the mails or with the immigration lawn and whether the mining operators have coerced the employes and combined com-bined in restraint of trade and Imported Import-ed firearms and explosives. oo |
