Another Am- erlcan Bowling congress record was , established yesterday afternoon when p Louis Huebner of Chicago, rolling in & his individuals, scored 287 in his first game. This surpasses the former record rec-ord of 280 held by L. Vellfltlok of Kansas City, made at the tournament in Chicago in 1912 Huebuer's work was marvelous from a bowling standpoint. In his first game he had nine straight strikes. On his tentli frame he got a seven-ten seven-ten split on his fir9t ball. He missed on the second ball. In his second game he rolled 220 pins. The third game he met with difficulty. "With two straight strikes on him he fouled, losing 22 pins. He closed the third game with a count of 155. which placed plac-ed him in the lead in the individual class. More than 14 scores totaling better bet-ter than 1100 were made in the two men events, but none of tbem was able to get into the leading class. Among the Individual leaders are: Huebner of Chicago 662. Heins of Newark, N J., 661. Spencer of Chicago Chi-cago 658, Sobieski of Des Moines 653, Marsh of Springfield 651. |
