Show WILL NOT OBEY printers decide to disregard an injunction of court chicago nov 6 john C harddng sounded the keynote ot the striking printers anti injunction demonstration yesterday at a north side hall when he declared that the union could not and would not obey the restraining order issued by judee hodom in favor of the employers remedies for curbing court authority were offered but mr hardings met with most tavor the audience more than 1000 members of typographical union no 16 and other trade unions had been gathered to discuss the injunction question judge holdom has granted an injunction said mr harding which it is absolutely impossible to obey it is so broad and sweeping that I 1 believe even the judge himself realizes that he has gone too far but we stand on our rights and wo intend to maintain them no matter what th result may be this strike he continued will he a long one but we intend to carry on a plain straightforward fight to the finish and we hope eventually to establish the eight hour day in the printing shops of chicago the resolution passed ran as follows resolved that for the preservation of the rights of the people it has become imperatively necessary that eters should be taken to limit the power of judges lest by precedents and forms of law every innocent act be made criminal and punished as such at the pleasure of any court which can be so persuaded |
