Christen-sen, Christen-sen, Calvin Richards, N. J. Valentine, J. P. Larson, John F. Merrill, E. T. Capner, E. A. Grandpe, Chas. E. Fox-Icy, Fox-Icy, Dr. Rich. J. Johnson, J. H. Hess, Dr. J. D. Harding, D. E. Adams, Henry Bowerlng, R. E. Pcarse. C. O. Chrlstensen acted as chairman and R. M. Jopson as secretary. Hon. Wesley IC Walton, chairman of the state committee, had requested Wm. GlaBmann to attend the meeting and when the lattor arrived the meeting meet-ing had just been called to order, and Mr. Glasmann was Immediately Introduced to explain tho situation. It appears that the meeting was advertised ad-vertised as a Progressive Republican meeting and a number of Taftltes thought themselves sufficiently progressive pro-gressive to be present and opposed any action which looked toward the formation of a new party. But tho real progressives proved to be in a majority. To show che temper of the Progressives an incident is 'worth mentioning R M. Jeppson was elected elect-ed a delegate to Provo and later on he expressed himself as opposed to the third party and tho meeting promptl recalled him as a delegate and elected another in his place, much to the amusement of those present. |
