A resident of Western Australia has invented) and patented a spark arrester which wil be handled through a company com-pany with its main office in London. The company does not propose to establish es-tablish factories, the manufneturo of the machine being carried out by thoee using the apparatus on a royalty basis. Tho machine fits ovor tho funnel of a locomotive and consists essentially essential-ly of two fans with gauze vanea revolving re-volving in opposite direction. They aro controlled bv gearing and are operated op-erated ontlrely by drafL By an arrangoment of spark catch-el's, catch-el's, and fixed v'qnes, vacuums are caused, taking all the sparks from the varies of tho fans. Separate chambers cham-bers are provided for taking away the waste steam. The machine is self-cleaning self-cleaning and can be made nnd fitted to locomotives at a slight cost |
