Frank Arant of. wirtioi ijinu A'.aiiuiini rtuK una lotum- mended in his report to Secretary or the Interior "Walter Fisher, the construction con-struction of a road thirty-five miles lung around the rim of the crater, to completely encirclo tho lake. The superintendent su-perintendent says the proposed road has been located and surveyed, and for most of its distance will bo im-modlatolv im-modlatolv upon the rim of the crater. It "will be from 1.000 to 2.000 feot above the lake, and at an elevation of from 7,000 to fi.OOO feet above sea level. It will afford an unobstructed view of the surrounding country in all directions as far as the eye can roach and be beyo'nd question one of the grandest scenic roads In the world. During the past season other load surveys were made as follows; From tho headquarters to south boundary boun-dary of park, eight miles; west boundary boun-dary to headquarters, six and a hall milc3, headquarters to lake, five: mlleB; east boundary to rim of lake eouth of Mount Scott, nine miles; Present roads weio built by Fort Klamath Kla-math troops forty-six years ago and ate veritable gutters tho wlpth of a wagon, some of them two feot dcop.
