As In tho gambling ordlnanco, recently re-cently enacted, the commission has reduced tho penalty for violation of tho law. Whero the penalty was formerly for-merly a fine of $299 or Imprisonment for three months or both, tho' new ordinance or-dinance makos the change to a ?50 flno or thirty days' imprisonment This Is done In order to prevent defendants de-fendants from demanding a Jury trial, a right they have when tho larger fine and longer Imprisonment Is possible. pos-sible. Every idle and dissolute person or associate of known thieves, who wanders wan-ders about the streets at lato or unusual un-usual hours of the night, or who lodges lodg-es In any barn, shed, shop, outhouse, vessel or place other than such as 13 kept for lodging purposes, without the pormlsslon of the owner or party entitled en-titled to the possession thereof.
