The letter from former President Roosevelt, explaining ex-plaining why ho did not attend this year's session of the National Conser-, vation congress, wns read to the delegates dele-gates this afternoon by Henry Wallace, Wal-lace, to whom it wns written. Mr. Roosevelt wrote that he believed In conservation in all its phases, as he believed in many other movements, which he named, for the elevation of mankind He continued- "Within the last month 1 have had requests to speak for each one of theso movements and for very, many others Now, my dear Mr. Wallace, 1 cannot speak for one unless I speak for the other movements.
