Show UNKNOWN "JAPANESE FATALLY INJURED Salt Lake, SopL 27 An unidentified unidenti-fied Japanese about 25 years of age was killed last n.ght at S-30 o'clock when he fell from Jordan bridge car No. 45G, striking on the pavement head foremost Tho accident took placo near tho corner of Second South and Second West streets. Tho car was outbound and the Japanese was standng on the rear platform. No one saw him leave the car and consequently con-sequently it is not known whether he attempted to leave the moving car and was thrown to the pavement or whether ho jumped or fell from tho car. The car was driven by Motorman Truman C. Armstrong, 11S5 Windsor avenue, and neither he, the conductor nor any of the passengers know in' what manner tho accident happened. Almost Immediately after the Japanese Jap-anese was henrd to hit the pavement tho car was stopped. The Oriental lay upon the street unconscious, blood streaming from his nostrils and ears. No wound was found upon his head, but it Is believed he foil on the back of his head and that the concussion caused a hemorrhage of the brain. Tho injured man was hurried to the police station and then removed to the Judge-Mercy hospital. Before tho ambulance reached the hospital the Japanese was dead. The body was removed to the S. D. Evans undertaking undertak-ing establishment. In the dead man's pockets were found a pair of glasses, a conductor's rocolpt given in return for a fare from Garfield to Salt Lake and a Japanese newspaper. There was no name. It is believed he was a smelter worker from Garfield. Ho was dressed In a light gray suit and was about five feet six inches tall In his pockets was found $1 10 in silver. |
