As has been predicted freely, -the Republicans again decided last nlelu to defer any action regarding the placing of a. municipal ticket in the field. The Republican Re-publican city committee 'met last night and followed Its usual course of doing nothing. Members of the city committee discussed proposed plans for a city ticket and for Joining Join-ing with the Democrats and the "business "bus-iness men" in the selection of a bo-called bo-called nonpartisan ticket. Some of the meinbors of the city committee arc eagor to call a convention conven-tion to put a straight Republican ticket tick-et In the field. However, thebe arc in the minority The majority of tho city committee Is said to be opposed to putting a Republican ticket up lor the sacrifice if It can possibly bo avoided. "The suggestion is made that "the word has been passed" to influence the Republicans to fuse with the Dcmacrats and "business men" in selecting an acceptable so-called so-called nonpartisan ticket. Several members of the Republican city committee and other prominent Republicans havebecn invited to mee't with about aoventy-five "business men" at tho Commercial club this noon to launch formally the "business men's" idea for a so-called non-par tls-an tls-an municipal ticket.
