Show THEY WILL. "The council ought to do something" is the exclamation of nearly every citizen, citi-zen, when speaking of city creek. Gentle Gen-tle reader, dost thou not know that the council is doing all that it possibly can in regard to this matter? They held a special meeting Monday evening for the express purpose of discussing, and if possible, discovering, a solution to this very difficult problem, but owing to the fact that they could not secure a title to the Chrlstenson property, a piece of land through which they wish to run a new channel, they were compelled to adjourn ad-journ without having taken any action in the matter. If they secure the Chrlstenson Chrls-tenson property, and make a new channel, chan-nel, it will be by all means the best way to remedy the tronble. It will not only famish a place to dump tbe gravel, which comes down with the water, but will also prevent the creek from over, flowing, and damaging property In the north-westren part of town, which Is the main trouble with the present channel. chan-nel. The property referred to, Is a natural hollow, and just the place In which to turn the creek. Now, dear reader, if you do not think the city council is acting right in this matter, call a mass meeting, and appoint ap-point a committee to act with the council coun-cil in this affair, and perhaps they will arrive at a satisfactory eolation of this very puzzling problem. |
