Burns & Bird. The Thursday morning bridge club held its usual meeting yesterday yester-day at 10 o'clock at the Atkin Hotel. After the games there was a fine banquet' lunch ready for" the members, mem-bers, prepared by the hostess of the hotel! One young man gives as a reason for exemption that he recently married mar-ried a widow having two, children. His mother was opposed, but declares de-clares that if it will exempt him it was all for the best after all. Mrs. P. Duffln, Mrs. W. H. Elmer and Mrs. Lewis gave a shower for Mrs. Kinney at the home of Mrs. Duffln last Friday afternoon. The rooms were nicely decorated for the occasion. Five hundred was the pastime pas-time for the occasion and eight tables were arranged for same. Mrs. Kesler was winner of first prize, Mrs. Horace Elmer second, and the consolation conso-lation prize fell to Mrs. Ches. Barton. Bar-ton. A delicious two course luncheon was served after the games. Many beautiful gifts were bestowed upon the honoree by her friends. |
