Show WEEKLY WEATHER AND CROP SUMMARY Report for Utah for the week ending Tuesday, August 7, 1917: The cutiing of the dry land grains and of the second crop of alfalfa has continued during the past week under un-der generally favorable weather conditions, con-ditions, as there have been only occasional oc-casional and scattered showers. Rabbits Rab-bits have destroyed much grain in Iron and Beaver counties. Alfalfa is in unusually good condition. . There has been very little damage by weevil, wee-vil, but in portions of Juab and Sanpete San-pete counties there has been considerable consid-erable damage by grasshoppers. The alfalfa being saved for seed in Millard Mil-lard county is in promising condition and is now in bloom. Pastures and ranges are good and improving due to the frequent showers show-ers in the hills. Stock are in good condition. A pack of seven . gray wolves is preying upon stock in northern Summit county. Beets, fruits and vegetables are doing well. Potatoes are improved by the cooler weather, but where irrigating ir-rigating water is lacking they need more rain. Apples and peaches are making good growth in the Bear River Valley.
