Show NADA HONORS DRAFTED MEN The following from Nada were called in the first draft and went to Cedar City to be examined: A. F. Mosell. John Wade. B. H. Matteson. Ray McGinty and Roy Coff. A party was given in their honor at the Culmsee home last Saturday evening. even-ing. About fifty were present and an unusually pleasant evening was spent, with A. B. and W. C. Dinwiddle Dinwid-dle and Mr. and Mrs. Zillgitt furnishing furn-ishing the music on violin. . guitar and piano. The rooms were appropriately appro-priately decorated with "Our Own Dear Red, White and Blue" and the flags of our allies as well as all friendly nations. The evening was spent in sirtging patriotic songs and dancing. At midnight a bountiful supper was served, consisting of coffee, cof-fee, cakes, sandwiches and a large, white cake decorated with tiny American flags in honor of our departing de-parting soldiers and a birthday cake for Miss Corine Culmsee. On Saturday evening a few friends were entertained at the Schaaf home. Michael McGuire, who had purchased pur-chased a tractor several weeks ago. left last Tuesday for Salt Lake to countermand the order as he decided to answer his country's call for men. Accordingly a telegram was received by friends here Saturday evening which read as follows: "Joined the marines. Goodbye to everybody." "Mike" was a popular young man here and all join in wishing him God-speed. Hats off to Mike: Miss Corine Culmsee leaves Saturday Satur-day evening for Salt Lake, where she will spend a week with her sister El Vera. Then she will visit a friend at Oak Harbor, Wbidby Island, Wash., a few days before returning to her school duties at Tieton, Wash. Supt. Maeser and Bert Griffiths visited Nada school patrons last Saturday Sat-urday with a view of locating a suitable suit-able site for a school house. Supt. Maeser is very earnest in his desire to place the building where the greatest number of children can have access to same. Dr. Culmsee received a blank from the War Dept. for physicians. To the question "Are you willing to serve if called?" he answered yes, with no attempt at exemption. Instead of saying he is "only one," he believes in saying "I am one," and will do his bit. Mrs. L. W. Dinwiddie planned 1 a surprise for her husband last week which was a very successful and enjoyable en-joyable affair in spite of the rain.
