Show SOLDIERS MAY HARVEST FOOD CROP Young men who are needed on the farms for fall harvest and who desire de-sire to attend the University of Utah will be allowed to do their bit on the farm and enter the University late, according to an announcement made by President John A. Widtsoe of the State institution. It is not definitely known what arrangement ar-rangement will be made for the students stu-dents who enter late, but the president presi-dent gives assurance that the details when worked out will be fair to those affected by the innovation. Registration will be held September 13 to 15, inclusive, and class work will start Monday, September 17. "Education should meet the demands de-mands put upon it by the changes in social conditions," said President Widtsoe. "The university is doing that by allowing the young men of the state who are needed for the harvest har-vest to do their work there and then take up their educational duties when that is completed. We intend to keep the university going and to continue to produce leaders who will be needed in the war and who will be needed even to a greater extent during the reconstruction period after af-ter the great conflict. The solemn duty of every Utah youth is to prepare pre-pare for the great responsibilities of the future." |
