Show CAR SHORTAGE AND STUFFED SAMPLERS BAD AS EMBARGOES There has been no embargo on ore at the United States Smelting & Refining Re-fining company's plant for more than a month, and last week the American Smelting company announced a lifting lift-ing of the embargo for five days beginning be-ginning with October 10. Some of the mine managers who have been shipping under this order expected to make no shipments today. The matter of procuring cars has been almost as bad as the smelter orders. Then some of the samplers are so congested that they are in no position to receive ores and give any kind of satisfactory treatment, requiring re-quiring waits before testing the ores. A combination of these circumstances circum-stances is making the conditions, particularly of some of the Tintic mines, almost as bad today as when both smelter companies recently gave out the ironclad order to ship no more oxidized ores until notified.
