Show NOMINATE FULL CITYJTICKETS There is, as the News predict- ed last week, to be no dearth of candidates for the offices of membership on the Town Board of Milford. The Republican caucus called by Precinct Chairman George Jefferson for last Monday night was postponed until last Wed- nesday .night at the Opera House, out of courtesy for the Red Cross meeting appointed for the same evening. There were about a dozen present when the meeting was first called to order but after several attempts at-tempts to secure the consent of individuals indi-viduals to accept the nomination for Mayor a larger number having arrived ar-rived from other meetings being held the same evening it was decided to start all over again. The chairman called for nominations for Miyor. J. W. Burns and W. F. Cottrell were placed in nomination. Mr. Burns was not present, but his partner in business, Mr. E. H. Bird, stated that he had heard Mr. Burns declare that he positively would not be a candidate. candi-date. The ballot was taken and Mr. Cottrell received 14 votes and Mr. Burns 8 votes. Mr. Cottrell was declared de-clared the nominee. There were eight men nominated for the remaining four places on the board and the ballot resulted ln the selection of Morrison Hickman, Leo Bowen, Arthur Wood and Clark Kesler. Democratic Caucus The Democrats will meet tonight to-night to place a ticket lnnomlnatlon and it is rumored that the nominee for Mayor will be a Republican. Thus the Democrats are catching the non-partisan idea, if such 1b true. |
