Show ANOTHER ONE GONE WRONG Hal. Stephens didn't go into business busi-ness in Baker, Nevada. Stevens was manager of the Milford Lumber Company. He was generally well liked and trusted. When he decided to embark in business for himself he was assisted locally and given every encouragement and the best wishes of the community. Hal. apparently decided to beat his friends, for he did not go to linker. He let drop the opportunity offered him there though he had made every arrangement arrange-ment to start a lumber yard and take over a sawmill at that place. The last heard from Hal. Stephens he was in Los Angeles. California, and it is claimed that he collected money that did not belong to him and took it with him to pay expenses. In addition he has loft several local friends in business here in the creditor cred-itor list with little hope of securing what Is due them for goods purchased pur-chased by the young man of rather expensive ideas and sporting proclivities. procliv-ities. Stephens' real trouble is that lie cannot be very happy without beiiiR half pickled most of the time. It Is about time to handle such fellows in the courts. |
