Show Plan For Fourth Anniversary of Triple-C Setup Sunday, April 4th, marks the fourth anniversary of the Civilian Conservation Corps in its program of rehabilitation the natural resources re-sources and the youth of America, and its director, Robert Fechner, Washington, D. C, has directed that this, fourth birthday be fittingly fit-tingly observed by the C C C camps throughout the country. Mr. Fechner's message to the camps as published in the official C C C newspaper, "Happy Days" issued on March 20, especially invites the public to visit and inspect the camps in order that they may be better acquainted with the life and work of the C C C enrollee. Mr. Fechner's message follows: "As director of the Civilian Conservation Con-servation Corps, which, on April 4, will complete four years of work in the nation's forests, parks and fields, . restoring and conserving our natural resources, I think it quite fitting that the many camps throughout the country celebrate l-U 4- 4.'i.: rn,.4-;,,io.i-r the event this year, ramcuiariy am I pleased that the majority of these ceremonies will include the presence in the camp of many citizens citi-zens who reside within the communities com-munities adjacent to the camps. I feel sure this will give these people peo-ple an opportunity of viewing, first hand, the splendid work the boys have been doing, and of becoming be-coming acquainted with the many-facted many-facted life the boys live in the camps. "So, I most sincerely extend generally, to the citizens of the country, my personal invitation to '.ttend one or more of these fourth-year fourth-year anniversary celebrations being held in the camps. Camp and company com-pany officials join with me in the invitation and they will be honored by your presence. These camp officials of-ficials will be prepared to exhibit and explain the meaning of Civilian Civi-lian Conservation work as it is being carried forward in your own community. The two CCC camps in the vicinity of Milford, Milford Camp DG-35, and Desert Range camp, F-33, plan to celebrate this occasion occas-ion by inviting the public to visit and inspect these two camps, and j to view some of the projects of the camps. On account of the great! distance of the Desert Range camp ! from Milford, Captain Alfred P. j Robertson, commanding the Mil-1 ford camp, and Lieutenant Harry j S. Hamilton, acting commander of I the Desert Range camp had plan-1 ned to pool their activities and re- j ceive guests jointly at the Milford ; camp but this has now been j changed and visitors are invited j to visit both camps, the invitation ! from the Desert Range camp ap- J pearing in another column of The News. j Visiting hours at the Milford I camp will be between 2:00 and 5:00 o'clock p.m., and enrollees of DG-35 will conduct visitors through their camp. At 2:20, Les- I lie C. Koch, camp superintendent of Camp DG-35, will conduct a tour of two of the projects under construction by Company 2530. Upon return to camp, guests are invited to witness the retreat formation for-mation of the company at 5:00 ' o'clock, at which time the flag is lowered. Each visitor at the camp will be given a copy of the special anniversary anni-versary number of "Happy Days", official newspaper of the Civilian Conservation Corps. |
