T A switch engine struck the auto of Sim Murdock at the railroad crossing in Miiford. It carried the car some distance and tossed it aside. J. S. Murdock and Edwin Murdock were passengers in the car and escaped es-caped serious injury. J L. Griffiths, of Frisco, and Mr. Parkinson, of Beaver, County Commissioners, Com-missioners, made a trip to Salt Lake on road matters. Black Rock is now booming. There are nine mining companies operating operat-ing in the district. The little hotel is crowded to capacity and Arthur James, the enterprising merchant, is doing a thriving business. A night shift has been put on at the Red Warrion mine. Nat Stoddard Stod-dard is running the engine. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Horton February 12th. In an advertisement Bill Martin was offering to take in 100 Ford cars on the new model Studebaker. M. J. Westerfield, of Riverside, Calif., one of the owners of the Beaver County News, was in Miiford this week. Sheriff Fotheringham and deputy, William Hurst, were in Miiford Tuesday Tues-day enroute to the state penitentiary with two prisoners. I A. F.
