Show MEETING OF VITAL INTEREST TO TAXPAYERS TAX-PAYERS FRIDAY EVE A meeting of vital importance to the tax-payers and patrons of our schools will be held at the high school building Friday evening, February 2G, immediately following the basketball basket-ball game. One of the important matters to come before the meeting is to discuss dis-cuss the advisability of a proposed bond issue for the operation of our schools for the remaining months of the present school year and the opening open-ing months of the fall term. As matters mat-ters stand the schools of Beaver county face the alternate of closing before the completion of the term, and with little chance of reopening in the fall unless some way is devised devis-ed to raise sufficient funds to carry on the work. Taxpayers and school patrons can ill afford to have the schools discontinued discon-tinued at this time of the year, and the only available way of securing funds for the operation of the schools at the present time is through a bond issue. Facts and figures on such an issue will be presented at the meeting meet-ing Friday night and everyone interested inter-ested in the schools and county should be present and learn at first hand just what such an issue will mean to the people. Other matters, including a discussion discus-sion on the tax valuation in Milford, will be brought before the meeting by the committee, and it is hoped that every citizen of the town and school district will be present. |
