Show Dead Game Frank Morrison, of the American Federation of Labor, was talking to a Washington reporter about a flagrant case of municipal corruption. "The apologists for this corruption," he ended, "remind me of the crooked dog fancier who sold a chap a worthless worth-less cur for a bird dog. "The chap, of course, came back In a few days and said: " 'Look here, you told me that dog 1 bought off you was a good bird dog.' " 'Well, so he is, purdner, so he is,' said the crooked dealer. 'You just try him on a plate of fried chicken oucet and see !' " |
