Show TO HEAR THE OTHER FELLOW'S PROBLEMS Each Member of Lions Club to Speak on some Phase of His. Business It was decided by the Mjlford Liens Li-ens Club at its Wednesday meeting this week to have a fifteen or twenty minute talk at every meeting by one of Milford's business or professional men, who will speak upon and explain some phase of his business. The motion mo-tion was made by Harold Cline to the effect that the chair appoint a speaker speak-er weekly, and this was unanimously agreed' upon. It was believed that the few minutes for the talks would be passed in a way both entertaining entertain-ing and . instructive, as there would , be speakers who would be fluent up on a subject which they had studied for. a lifetime, and upon which other members of the club would know nttie;' Dr. Addison Bybee was named to make the first talk, and will speak upon some phase of the practice of medicine. Other developments at the meeting were, in the main, committee reports. A dancing party sponsored by the J. club was announced for this Saturday Satur-day night. Dr. ' Addison Bybee reported re-ported on the roads south of town. He said that they were well graveled as far as the work had progressed. Bridges on both roads out to the flats are in need of repair, he stated. -The graveling was done by the South Milford farmers, who supplied teams and labor to haul and lay the gravel. It was decided 'to have-, j this committee enter into correspond- , ence with view to having President Aaron W. Tracy, of Weber College, come to Milford to give a talk on the Junior College idea. A plan to bring "advantageous features of Milford before be-fore the public eye was discussed and submitted to the publicity committee for action. Harold Cline was named as assist-. assist-. ant secretary of the club, to serve in "the absence of M. P. Lewis, who will 'be employed away from Milford for . several weeks. Principal Ml. J. Andrews, of the Milford Public Schools, gave a brief talk, explaining the Junior move V mentjn other states, and what was hoped it would accomplish in Utah. Sixteen' members of the club were present at the meeting. o |
