Show SEASON CLOSED BY MINERSVILLE WIN Milford Put Up Stiff Battle But Lost by Score of 27-14 Minersville High bested Milford again in their second basketball encounter en-counter of the season last Friday nght, the game being played on the Minersville floor, and the final outcome out-come being 27 to 14. The game was fairly interesting and fairly close, until about the end of the third quarter, when Minersville had a lead that looked very safe. Milford bounced bounc-ed out into a lead for a few minutes early in the fray but was able to maintain it for only, a brief time. The: score at the period endings were 9-4, 11-7, 18-9, 27-14. Milford had no offense at all, but Minersville's man-for-man style may have had something to do with that part of it. Defensively, 'Milford put up a stout game, making : up ' by fighting what it seemed to lack in sniooth team play. Jones stood out well at guard, while Hort-Mi rustled the ball well on offense. The game closed the regular basketball bas-ketball season for the schools in the county. Hinckley High, after several sev-eral years as a contender, in which it barely missed the bunting, won the district championship this year and will go to the state tourney at Salt Lake City. . |
