W. club, appeared in annual publication pub-lication of the Federated clubs, recently re-cently issued: Among other feelings we realize this year, gratitude stands out very-prominent. very-prominent. We are most grateful to have a B. P. W. Club in Milford, and happy to be able to help out in some matters that have gained much praise for our club. We sent $50 to.the Lena Madison Phillips Building Fund; gave ?20 to the American Legion Park for improvements; im-provements; sponsored one young girl through high school, helped clothe her also, and furnished books, for five young people who were unable un-able to buy them. In January we noticed that the scarcity of work called for some charitable service, so we issued a call for cast-off clothing which met with a hearty response, and loads of wonderful clothing was sent to us. We relieved many families who were in need of warm clothing for the winter months. Our club meetings have been of an educational, yet enjoyable nature, interspersed with banquets and luncheons. We gave one large banquet, ban-quet, two socials given at homes, and one bridal shower. rt |
