Show DELTA'S BIG DANCE. The Commercial Club was planning & dance Friday night for the benefit of the club, but when It was learned that the celebrated Mexican Band could be secured for Tuesday evening it was promptly engaged and then everybody " set out to let the fact be known. The telephone was called Into requisition, neighbor told neighbor and the result was that there was a bigger crowd than Delta ever had at any other dance. Oak City, Oasis, Deseret, Abraham and Hinckley all sent delegations, dele-gations, and the editor saw a number of students from the Academy that he suspects didn't ask permission to come, but he will not give them away. The floor was filled with dancers and the walls lined with listeners, for the music was well worth listening to even If one didn't dance. Some of the music was rather peculiar probably national In character and rather difficult dif-ficult to keep time to for persona accustomed ac-customed to the more accentuated dance music of first-class I'tah orchestras. or-chestras. The Club realized over $.10 from the dance and will be able to make some suggested Improvements in the town. The Club also had the orchestra furnish music for another dance Wednesday evening while Hinckley expected to have them Thursday evening. |
