Show pearance of the town from people both drastic comment on the present ap-within ap-within and without the State, and for those engaged In developing that section sec-tion of country, including agents who are endeavoring to sell land, it is truly discouraging lo be obliged to drop prospective buyers off a railroad train Into a sea of brush only to ga.e upon a town wholly uninviting in appearance. ap-pearance. Mr. Wells, General Manager Man-ager of the Salt Lake Route, was here a few days ago and made special mention men-tion of this, while 1 have heard similar expressions from other officials of the road. Plans and specifications are now out for HOTFL DELTA. I am now soliciting so-liciting bids and shall have construction construc-tion work under way In a very short time. This will be a modest but attractive at-tractive building and I hope to prevail pre-vail upon others to build business houses and good homes, and In a general gen-eral way shall be glad to do all I reasonably rea-sonably well can to further the general gen-eral development of the town. I now have the assurance of the San Pedro officials that their right of way through the town will receive early attention, that material for the new station has been ordered and within 60 days I hope to see the new station a completed reality. This will be followed fol-lowed by considerable parking on the part or the railway but just how Boon I am unable to say, but I shall continue con-tinue to urge them to early action. It Is now clearly up to the people of Delta to do their part by way of putting put-ting Delta on the map In attractive fashion and beautify their premises as best they can, and above all else the property along the rails on both sides should be cleared, plowed and planted plant-ed at the earliest date possible and neat fences built. I fulle appreciate the fact that the people there have had many handicaps and are not In a position financially Just- now to do all that they might desire, but, much of the improvement here indicated is a question of labor only and this they can do, and in my judgment It will be a serious handicap to the growth of the town and Immediate Imme-diate vicinity If the people generally fall to take an early and active Interest Inter-est in this much needed work of general gen-eral home Improvement and beautlfl-catlon. beautlfl-catlon. Would It not be well for you to take the subject up vigorously in your official of-ficial capacity and see what can be done and how soon? I trust that my suggestions will be received kindly and quite within the spirit written. Very truly yours, DELTA LAND & WATFR CO., DO SOMETHING YOURSELVES. Manager Snow, of the Delta Land & Water Co. has sent a letter to A. C. Sorenson, president of the Commercial Club and a copy to some others, and we reproduce It for the benefit of everybody else in Delta. While we can't make Delta a paradise its appearance ap-pearance can be greatly improved by a little united effort. One easily preventable pre-ventable nuisance Is allowing the water from the ditches to run all over the streets. We don't know whether it is the fault of the property owners or the Melville Co. that water Is allowed al-lowed to run all over, but It ought to be remedied. The following is Mr. Snow's letter: Dear Mr. Sorenson: When In Delta recently I spoke to two or three town people about arous- i Ing public interest toward an early I and general sagebrush clearing of ' the town and wll thank you to advise me whether the matter has been given ' erious thought and If any definite ae- , tlon taken.
