About five other pieces remain re-main to be put up and will be installed in-stalled in a short time. The equipment equip-ment includes teeters, swings, baby ba-by swings, giant stride, slides and other types of outdoor playground equipment. The project has been underway with the Lady Lions for the past five years and was first brought up by Mrs. Owen Westcnskow. During Dur-ing the presidency of Mrs. E. B. Farnsworth, the site was chosen and through the NYA the equipment equip-ment was built. The Lady Lions bought the materials by raising funds in drives and by shows. The NYA built the equipment for the experience. The playground items arrived during dur-ing the presidency of Stella Ashby and were stored at the Ashby Implement Im-plement Company until this spring when it was moved to the site. The Lady Lions under Alma Peterson have brought the playground to its present state and will no doubt complete it within a few weeks. The orignial plan included landscaping land-scaping the grounds south of the playground and they bought the seed In preparation for planting lawns. The landscaping has been postponed until labor conditions impove and a caretaker can be secured se-cured to look after the lawns and grounds. At this time the grounds immediately around the new playthings play-things will be graveled. The Lady Lions give a lot of credit cred-it to Max Hannifin for his help during the past years in securing material and helping in the landscaping. land-scaping. They wish to publicly thank him for his aid. |
