Show Home on Leave Lt. (jg) Dale F. Johnson, USNR, of Delta, has returned home on a leave after a six months tour of anti-submarine duty aboard one of the Navy's hard hitting support carriers in the Pacific. Attached to Composite Squadron 42, the 24 year old Utah airman served as a pilot of one of the Navy's Na-vy's deadly Avenger torpedo planes. plan-es. He and his squadron mates carried out long day and night searches in all kinds of weather, on the lookout for enemy U-boats and other threats to our surface forces. While on his Pacific war cruise, Lt. (jg) Johnson received a Letter of Commendation from Admiral Jo- ,nas H. Ingram for pioneering in night carrier flying while on previous pre-vious duty in the Atlantic. j A veteran of over 100 carrier landings, land-ings, he is the son of Linden H. . Johnson of Delta, and attended B . Y U before he received his commission commis-sion in the Navy. |
