Show Betty Grace Barney Named as County War Bond Queen in 7th Drive; County Still Has Not Reached Its Final Quota Crowning Ceremony to Be Performed at Dance At Delta Open Air Friday Betty Grace Barney of Sutherland, Suther-land, was named the Millard County Coun-ty bond queen on having attained votes amounting to 500 percent of the Sutherland quota. Her standing stand-ing in the voting was exceptionally high, as well as her queen-like qualities. A special Bond Queen dance is to be held in the Delta Open Air Friday night, at which time she will be crowned the Millard Mil-lard County Queen. Loon Etta Sampson was the Delta Del-ta queen, and Frances Allen was the Lynndyl queen. All the queens of the county have been invited to the dance and will be introduced. They will be in formal for-mal dress with military escorts for the occasion, which will add dignity dig-nity and beauty to the dance. ' Everyone is invite to attend. STILL LACK QUOTA Millard County has not reached its quota, but every effort is being made to do so. West Millard has reached $130,121.25, which puts it very close to the goal, Delta still needs about $3000 to put it over the top; Hinckley lacks $3500 to reach their quota; and Oak City has another $1500 to raise. These three communities have put extra workers in the field to spur the drive on and expect to reach the respective quotas by Saturday night the end of the 7lh War Loan Drive. East Millard, as of Saturday night, July 23, was still far behind its quota and had sold but $67,981 25 up'to that time. They are working work-ing hard there to reach their goal and hope to raise the necessary $42,000 within this week. |
