Show To Keep Record Of Gas Rations When motorists outside the East Coast Area renew their basic "A" gasoline rations to replace the present pre-sent "A" rations that expire September Sep-tember 21, they'll get a mileage rationing record that will replace the tire inspection record as a record re-cord of all gasoline rations issued for use with the basic "A" ration, the OPA has announced. Dates for renewal applications and manner man-ner of filing will be announced locally. lo-cally. The tire inspection record must serve until the new form is issued. With every application for a special or supplemental ration, except fleet or official ration, the motorist must present his mileage rationing record form to the local board. While the new "A" book will give the same monthly ration as the old, eight gallons a month, the new coupons will be worth four gallons instead of three. In 17 East Coast States and the District Dis-trict of Columbia, present "A" rations ra-tions do not expire until February 8, 1945. sons in common use are lead arsenate, ar-senate, calcium arsenate, magnesium magne-sium arsenate, paris green, arsenic trioxirie, sodium fluoride, barium fluosilicate; sodium fluo-alumina-te, phosphorus, and potassium an-timonyl an-timonyl tartrate. Many insects obtain their food by piercing the object and sucking out the liquid juices from beneath the surface. These cannot be controlled con-trolled by stomach poisons applied to the surface. Such insects as well as chewing insects whose habits ha-bits permit, may often be control-ed control-ed by contact poisons. There are many kinds of contact poisons: dormant contact strays, summer contact sprays, household contact sprays, cattle sprays, cleansing sprays, mosquito larvicide sprays, contact dusts, nicotine, pyrethrum, rotenone, hellebore, thiocyanates, dinitro compounds, petroleum oils, animals and vegetable oils, sulphur and mercury. Coatings of dust or dirt, and of finely divided insecticidal dust diluents di-luents are often repellent to insects, in-sects, probably because of mechanical mecha-nical interference with movements of the insects on the plants. While considerable work has been done on the subject, no good universal insect repellent has been developed. develop-ed. Materials obnoxious to humans hu-mans are not necessarily disagreeable disagree-able to insects. Rotenone dust is one of the most important of the newer chemicals being used for garden insects.
