Show 0l Perianal 9nt&ied Miss Dorothy Bird of Salt Lake City spent Sunday and Monday visiting with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Bird and her brother, Evan who was home on furlough. Mrs. P. V. Kelly and Miss Dawn Kelly are visiting in Los Angeles with Jim Kelly and Vernon Moody. A rain of .28 on the 30th broke the long dry spell here, of about 90 days during which no appreciable appre-ciable precipitation fell. The Delta Laundry has been taken tak-en over by Mrs. Lee Gifford, who will conduct the business herefater succeeding Mrs. Wm. Chynoweth. Mrs. Ralph Crafts, of Deseret, is now teaching the 4th and 5th grades it the Elementary School. Mrs. Laverna Moody resigned the position. Shoes may be sent to servicemen service-men overseas without a shoe stamp providiing the dealer mails the shoes. If they are mailed by the family, a stamp must be sur- rendered. Mrs. Mahonri Bishop and son, Wayne, are expected here within a week to visit with M-S J. Avery Bishop. Lt. Bishop will join them later when he receives his furlough. Mrs. Bob Still entertained at a birthday party Sunday evening in honor of her husband. Bob, and Mae Welch, whose birthdays are the same day. Those present were M-S Peter H. Peterson, M-S George Roundy, M-S Frank Rawlinson, M-S M-S Wash Roundv, M-S Kelley Haw-ley, Haw-ley, M-S Red Van De Vanter, M-S Peter A. Peterson, Ed Christensen, Carl Leavitt, Mrs. J. C. Works, Mrs. June Smith, Mrs. Drue Phillips, Nel-da Nel-da Roundy, Vera Christensen, and Howard and Erma Rondy. M-S Clark Huff and daughter of Fillmore were dinner guests of Mrs. Gerald Huff on Sunday. Mrs. Ernest Wilkins and two daughters of Murray came to Delta Saturday to spend a few days. They will return to their home after aft-er Ernest gets back from California. Californ-ia. Mrs. Hannah Willoughby will go back with them. Mrs. J. R. Morensen was hostess at a rook party Thursday evening given for her daughter, Miss Josephine Jose-phine Mortensen. Guests were Mrs. Pearl Snow, Mrs. Orvetta Nickle, Mrs. Beth Holman, Mrs. LaRee Davis, Da-vis, Mrs. Rae Jensen, Mrs. Violet Mortensen, Mrs. LePriel Mortensen, Mrs. Leah Mortensen, Mrs. Mary Moody, Mrs. Barbara Spendlove, Misses Virginia Killpack, Myrna Turner, Merlene Law, La Mira Bishop. High score was held by Orvetta Nickle, second high by Beth Holman, and low score by La Priel Mortensen. Thursday evening a group of ladies were entertained at7 the home of Donna Sagers. Those present pres-ent were: Donna Sagers, Lorayne Van, Enid Hopkins, Lucille Sampson, Samp-son, Evelyn Cropper, Verel Dam-ran, Dam-ran, and Bessie Webb. The invited guests were Althea Orton, Eddis Bennett, La Veil Smith, Cree Palmer Pal-mer and Velda Perkins. High score was won by Besie Webb, second by Enid Hopkins, and low score by Eddis Bennett. Guest prize was won by Althea Orton. M-S George Leany came to Delta from Tod Park, Tooele, this week; Mrs. Leany will remain here, and he will go back there to work a-gain. a-gain.
