Show German Prisoners Are Surprised in New York BUSHNELL GENERAL HOSPITAL, Erigham Ctiy, Utah- German prisoners pris-oners of war got a good de-dosing of Nazi propoganda when they sailed into New York harbor from France" and found the world famed fam-ed skyline intact despite D. Goeb-el's Goeb-el's reports that the city was in ruins from German bombings. This story was told here today ' by Pfc. John A. Adams, of Salt Lake City, who was recently returned re-turned to this country after being wounded in action in France. On the same ship were a number of Nazi captives, and Pfc. Adams was able to observe their surprise upon their arrival in the United States. Pfc. Adams, 32, whose wife, Mrs. Verdela Adams and son, Randall, live at 432 South 10th Sast, was injured in-jured July 11 near Le Haye de Puits by explosion of a German rifle grenade. He had been in France since June 15th, and was serving with the crack Fourth Infantry Division as a rifleman. He had been overseas over-seas since this Spring. Pfc. Adams is a veteran of the drive to liberate liber-ate Cherbourg. He was taken to Great Britain for medical treatment by ship from France. He now is receiving specialized spec-ialized treatment at Bushnell. Pfc. Adams is a graduate of the Delta High School, class of 1930, and was employed at the Remington Reming-ton arms plant in the tool and gauge department prior to entry into the service. The infantryman is active in L. D. S. circle, being an elder in that church, and having represented the Mormon faith for two years in a mission to the Eastern States. He also has been on missions to Mexico. Mex-ico. Mr. and Mrs. John Adams returned return-ed this week from visiting their son in the hospital. |
