Phone your news Tuesday to Mae Shipley The first meeting of the new season's work of the Relief Society was held Tuesday, Oct. 3, with a good attendance and will continue with interest during the winter. Julian Finlinson, son of M-S Ray Finlinson is reported as slightly improved at the Delta Hospital. His many friends are glad to hear of this improvement as his condition has been serious. Mrs. Rachel Roper has returned from Salt Lake City where she visited vis-ited the past few weeks. We are glad-to have her home again. The usual annual epidemic is breaking out among the men in Oak City again, called "gethima-buckdoeitis." "gethima-buckdoeitis." it is very contagious and some women are exposed. Dr. Bird reports no cure for this until after Nov. 30. He knows as he already al-ready has symptoms himself. We trust the right kind of medicine will be available this season and everybody happy during this epidemic. epi-demic. Mrs. Angie Lyman went to Los Angeles where she met her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Lane Wilekens, who has been living at Sacramento with her husband. He is now going overseas and Mrs. Wilekens returned to Oak City with her mother. They will go to Rexburg, Idaho, where Mrs. Lyman Ly-man lives. Mrs. Newel Day and children are Oak City visitors this week. They live in Fillmore. Mrs. Clara Talbot received word of the arrival of a new grandson at FillHtore; the son of M-S Seymour Sey-mour Memmott, of Scipio. M-S Royd Anderson motored to Provo Monday to take their daughter. daugh-ter. Thirl, who will attend school at the BYU this winter. Deloy Gardner of Vernal returned return-ed home this week. He pas spent the summer with J. Lee Anderson where she h;ts had employment .
