Show Go to See State Basketball Tournament There were 32 seats allotted la Delta for the state busketball tournament, about 1-2 of 1 percent of the number it would have taken tak-en to supply the demand here. Most of the players' parents will be there to see them play, and a number of high school students are there. Among the townspeople going go-ing are Mr. and Mrs. Golden H. , Black, Mrs. Nora Knight and her son. Lt. James Knight, Lee Callister ' Cecil Baker, Max Hannifin, Leigh Maxfield, Clayson Cahoon and Spencer Wright. Yyonne Nelson, Jerene Nelson, Carol Willden and Rayda Little left Wednesday morning on the early train for Salt Lake City to attend the basketball tournament. Mrs. R. J. Law and her daughter, Mrs. Verda Nelson, Jerene Nelson and Betley Broderick, and Mrs. Mollie Jacobs spent Wednesday in Richfield visiting Mrs. Law's daughter, Mrs. Iris Hartle. On the return trip they ran into a storm and drove 40 miles through a blinding blizzard. Leslie D. Pace is in the hospital in Salt Lake Cily recovering from an operation. Melvin Mitchell, who has been in Salt Lake City for hospitalization hospitaliza-tion for injuries to his back, returned re-turned to Delta this week. Mrs. Laura Egan has returned from a visit of three weeks in St. George with her son, Tex Mosely, and his wife and little son. It was the first visit Mrs. Egan has had with her grandson. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Golden Black spent Sunday Sun-day in Fillmore to visit their brother, broth-er, Lt. fg.) Paul Baker, and his wife, who are there for a visit. Lt. I Baker returned several weeks ago from service in the Pacific. Miss Evelyn Kilpack returned this week to the U of U, after a week's vacation between quarters, spent here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Killpack. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben came home this week from Salt Lake City with their small daughter, daugh-ter, Linda, who had been treated there for an eye injury when she fell on a pair of scissors. They will go to Salt Lake again in a week for further treatment for Linda. |
