Lunch was served to guest Wanda Johansen and raera- - bers, Vera Giles, Helen Fowles, Marie Jensen, Venese Taylor, Zada Shields, Grace Fowles and the hos-tess, Vilda Perkins Pinochle was played and score high was held by Vera Giles, 2nd high by Grace Fowles, and Marie Jensen held low score. Wanda Jo-hansen received a guest prize. H. A. Glazier, from Los Angeles, is in Delta this week, visiting his daughter, Mrs. Maline Gardner. Guard" Girls The Guardian Girls of Sutherl-and vvard Bee Hive were entert-ained Friday ight at the home of Mrs. Zola Bunker. Those present were Arlene Ogden, Darlene May, La Rue Anderson, Kay Henrie, Dor-othy Abbott, Dorothy Crumley, San ara Rawlinson and Earlene Steele Supper was cooked and served at the outdoor fireplace, and games were played. SHIPLEY Mrs. Caddie Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell, and son, Niel, and Mrs. Martha Anderson spent sev-eral days in Salt Lake City where I hey attended the wedding of Dar-lene Lovell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clisbee Lovell, which took place Friday morning, June 10, in the Salt Lake temple. A reception was held that evening. Mrs. Reed Vincent and children of Grace, Idaho, have returned to their home after visiting here with relatives for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nielson are visiting in Salt Lake City with their son, Byron and family. Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielson went to Logan where they attend-ed the wedding of a friend of Mrs. Nielson. Mrs. Christian Anderson and sons visited a few days in Clear-field with relatives and friends. Devon Roper has gone to Clear-fel- d to find employment. Clead Lovell is visiting at Lark with his brother, Max and family. Mr, and Mrs. Arthur Olson Wilburn Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Oren Allred spent the weekend on a fishing trip in Beaver canyon. Mrs. Twiss Nielson and sons, Ted, Ivan and Gordon, and daugh-ter, Lorna Lovell, visited several days in Provo and Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Arlan Jacobson and sons, were Oak City visitors over the weekend. Speakers at the Sunday evening meeting were Dr. M. E. Bird, and a returned missionary, Merlin Workman, who has served in the South African mission. Sunday Wesley Shipley flew to Delta and took his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Shipley to Salt Lake City by plane for a visit with their daughter, Betty and family. Mr. and Mrs. Oran Finlinson, who recently moved to Payson, visited here on Friday. Saturday evening the family of Mrs. Caddie Lovell held a weinie roast in the canyon. Those who attended besides Mrs. Lovell were Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell and family, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy An-derson and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Lem Lovell. Mrs. James Anderson has her mother visiting with her a few days. Mrs. Clara Wells of Clearfield and Mrs. Ardell Jenkins and hus-band from Virginia, are visiting their mother, Mrs. Clara Talbot this week. Grant and Gene Harris are home from the BYU where they have been attending school. Gene was one of the graduates this year. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Whatcott vis-ited a few days with Mrs. What- - f cott's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Wells Nielson visit-ed over the weekend in Manti with friends and relatives. The second 4-- club meeting, under the direction of Louise Lov-ell and Freda Hansen, teachers, was held Monday afternoon at the home of Barbara and Bonnie Fielding. The name chosen for their club is The Eight Thrift Stitcheretts. The cheer leaders have decided on 2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate, the club, the club, the 4-- club as their official yell. A pleasant aft-ernoon was enjoyed by the mem-bers. A nice luncheon was served to the group. Reporter, Janice S. Nielson. Lorraine Stevensen. and Thelma Nielson drove to Salt Lake last week to visit with relatives for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bradfield are very proud of their new baby boy born to them last week. It is their first child. Bud and Margaret McCann went to Tooele to attend a funeral there last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Williams have their grandson from Tooele visiting with them for awhile. There are many children visit-ing here from the cties wth rela-tve- s. Mr. and Mrs. William Wash and Mr. and Mrs. Dene Dutson and son drove down from Salt Lake City early last Sunday to spend the day with their parents. They ar-rived in time to attend Sunday school here. Mrs". Dorothella Soderquist from Salt Lake City is visiting here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Dutson. The Sunday School furnished the program for last Sunday night meeting. A very nice program was enjoyed. Merrill Dutson will be one of the speakers for next Sun-day night meeting. A women's Softball game was helid here last Wednesday after-noon at 4:30 p.m. The score was Sugarville 11, Leamington 9. The 4-- Morning Glories Break-fast club held their meeting at the home of Joan Bradfield Wed-nesday morning, June 8. Members are Luella Dutson, the president; Inez Nielson, Joan Brad-field and Shirley Grygla, members. Teachers are Eva Dutson and Eva Bradfiled. The young financial wizard in Who's Who this week is Evan Johnson. He and his wife, Jean, have lived for the past 18 years in Delta. He was born in Holden, and is an old hand at farming and raising livestock( although he al-so had time to cut and wrap meat at Quality Market all winter. |
