Show Old Barn Theatre presents Melodrama The Old Barn Theatre at Parry Lodge, in Kanab Utah, opened on June 13 to a full house with a rollicking musical-melodrama "No Sooner Won Than Wed," which will continue playing Mondays through Saturdays throughout the next several weeks of the summer season. Special opening night guests and production personnel who were introduced in-troduced by Dr. Andersen included Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Lewis, Kanab, who are patrons of the Old Barn Theatre Summer Company. "No Sooner Won Than Wed" involves the traditional heroine, in this instance, Melody Lovesong, pla'yed beautifully by Lisa Andersen. An-dersen. The hero, played by Danny. Howard, is shy in his expressions of love but is bold in his defense of Melody against the Villian and Villianess, superbly played by Matt Jacobson and Chris Robison. Other representatives represen-tatives of the "good guys" include the Sheriff, hilariously performed by John Rust, and Melody's guardian and companion played trustingly by Becky Leavitt. Tickets for the Old Barn Theatre are available at Parry Lodge in Kanab, and reservations may be made by calling Parry Lodge and asking for "Theatre Reservations." Tickets also are available at the door on evenings of performance. The Old Barn Theatre is sponsored jointly by Dixie College and Parry Lodge. |
