Show Seminarto indoctrinate businessmen on festival "At the completion of the seminar," Phillips said, "it is anticipated that the people of downtown Cedar City will have a good understanding of how the Festival operates and how Cedar City businesses and Festival can complement each other more fully." The Utah Shakespearean Festival is sponsoring a half-day half-day seminar for Cedar City merchants, businessmen and all employees, aimed at acquainting them with the festival. The seminar is scheduled June 28 at 10:00 a.m. on the festival grounds, according to festival public relations director Scott Phillips. It will cover such areas as the costume shop, the scene shop, makeup, and staging. The merchants will be invited to watch a rehearsal in action, and will be invited to complimentary refreshments. Producing Director Fred Adams will explain the history and background of festival, as well as how the company is sleeted and where the festival fits into the national theatrical picture, Another purpose of the seminar, Phillips said, is to enable downtown personnel and merchants to better answer tourist and local queries they receive each year regarding the Festival. Pin-on badges saying "Ask me about the Shakesperean Festival" have been distributed by the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce. |
