Show Julia Pace Lamb dies at St. George Julia Pace Lamb, 81 a well known resident of St. George, died Thursday August 17, at 12:10 p.m. in the Dixie Medical Center. She was born April 24, 1897 in St. George, a daughter of John E. Pace and Julia Anna Ivins. She married Sherman C. Lamb on Feb. 18, 1917 in the St. George Temple. He died Nov. 7, 1959. Mrs. Lamb was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as president of the Relief Society, Primary, and MIA. She was coordinator of the Jr. Sunday School and held numerous teaching positions. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and an active member of the organization. While living in Cedar City, she served as a volunteer nurses aid at the Iron County Hospital and at Bushnell Hospital for Wounded Servicemen. She managed dress shops in both Cedar City and St. George. Survivors are; sons and daughters: Mrs. Ted (Agnes) Rouse, Benton City Washington; Col. John P. Lamb, Taeoma, Washington; Serhman D. Lamb, St. George; Mrs. Gordon (Mary Ann) Gott-stein, Gott-stein, Bellevue, Washington and a granddaughter Mrs. Jack Mannion (Terry Rae), Las Vegas, Nevada. 16 grandchildren, 11 great gratichildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. in the St. George 1st Ward Chapel. Interment was in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. |
