Show Reduced waiting period for elk permits Recent action by the Board of Big Game Control has reduced re-duced the waiting period for obtaining an elk permit from four years to two years, This means that hunters who held an elk permit in 19G7 or prior years are eligible in 1970 to obtain another permit. All areas of the State declared de-clared open to elk hunting in 1970 are open bull permit areas for eligible hunters. The open bull permits go on sale August 10-1S, and are sold only at Division of Fish and Game offices. No mail applications appli-cations will be accepted for open bull permits. Applications for restricted, either sex elk permits will be accepted by mail only from August 20-28. If the either sex areas are oversubscribed a drawing will be held September Septem-ber 9 to determine the successful success-ful applicants. : When my son came bounding bound-ing into the house carrying a football he had won in a box-top box-top contest, I was amazed. The rules had stated that prizes would be awarded to youngsters young-sters who wrote the best sentences sen-tences on why they liked the product. His entry won! It said, "I like your cereal because be-cause it doesn't snap, crackle or pop ... it just lays there quietly and sogs." |
