Hampton will officially open the Utah Shakespearean Fes- ; tival held annually on the campus of Southern Utah State College. The Governor's, Gala will be held this evening, Thursday, with a dinner to precede the play. A reception for all guests and cmpa V members will take place following fol-lowing the opening night p, i -formance. Opening play of the ninth Festival season will be King Richard HI, directed by Fesii-val Fesii-val founder Fred C. Adams. Premiers for Merry Wives of Windsor, directed by E. C. Strickland, and Twelfthh Night, directed by John El.ey, will be July 17 and IS, respectively. re-spectively. Mr. Strickland is a graduate student in drama at ?enn State University and a three-year veteran of the Fest ival.
